You don’t have to wait for a specific day to play. You can game as much as you want, satisfying even the highest levels of blood lust. Achievements can be completed at any time in the store, so you can earn points while testing your latest competitive deck or raiding a dungeon with your buddies. You’ll also have a weekly tournament each Monday where you can collect an exclusive participation promo just for showing up, and then you can earn another exclusive promo for winning the event.

Through earning achievements like winning with a theme deck or bringing new players to the game, you can earn Badge of Justice cards you’ll be able to redeem for exclusive crafted cards like Belt of the Twilight Assassin.

What Happens There?

Game Days are Standard format. The tournament will be Swiss-style, with the top 8 players after the Swiss rounds advancing to the single-elimination finals. In the case of an event with 16 players or less, only the top 4 will advance. Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will be used to determine final order in the standings.

In the case of an event with exactly 8 players, there will be three Swiss rounds with no single-elimination cut.

What Do I Get?

All participants receive an exclusive Liliana’s Specter promo card (while supplies last). The top 8 players each receive an exclusive full-art Mitotic Slime promo card. The cards are awarded to the Top 8 players even if the tournament cuts only to the top 4. Two Mitotic Slime promo cards will also be awarded as door prizes.

The winner receives the Magic 2011 Game Day winners certificate, as well as the Magic 2011 Champion title. Selected top 8 decks and all Game Day winners will also be featured on magicthegathering.com.

Entry fee is just $25 for a whole day of battles!

Sneak Peek: What is it?

A Sneak Peek is your first look inside the latest booster set. New Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME booster sets are released every three months, featuring 100 brand new cards! Add these new cards to your collection, or create a new Deck based on the featured new themes, or add the new cards to your current Decks to make them more powerful than ever.

At a Sneak Peek, you’ll get 5 booster packs of the latest set, and use just those cards to build a new Deck. The minimum Deck size at a Sneak Peek is lowered to 20 cards. Since only these new cards are used, everyone has a chance to win their Duels!

While you’re having fun with your new cards, you might win a special Duelist Revolution Game Mat. Additional booster packs will not be awarded, but you can buy more packs of Duelist Revolution on August 17 at stores everywhere!

For Parents

If your child is younger, shy, or just getting into Yu-Gi-Oh!, a Sneak Peek is a good first stop. Some tournaments can be intimidating, with highly competitive players, but these Sneak Peek events are more casual and fun. These are some of the best events for new Duelists since everybody has access to the same cards. If your child is nervous about asking a stranger to Duel against, ask the store personnel to help. Sneak Peeks are all about everyone having a good time with their new cards.
